Baby Names..

So one of my wonderful Aunts makes a family directory and updates it every year so that everyone in the family is able to keep in contact and be able to reach each other. It really makes things a lot less stressful if your planning a wedding, baby shower, sending out christmas cards, and so on. I am so very grateful for the hard work and time she spends on doing this for our family!

So when I got the email today of the directory my Aunt asked everyone to check our information and if there was anything wrong to let her know so she could fix it. So I looked down the list for "King" and there we were Taylor & Eva Jane then next to our name was our son's name but I was very surprised by the spelling... Kristoffer. I didn't really think anything of it I thought it looked kinda cool.

Later today I got an email from my father with a subject title "Baby Names". When I saw this a smile came across my face. I knew my dad had something interesting to say about the spelling of Kristopher's name. My father went on to say..

Did you see the way your baby's name is spelled on the family directory? Is that how you're planning to spell it - with ff rather than ph? I haven't heard one way or another. FYI:

Kristoffer

Meaning and origin
Kristoffer is a Scandinavian boy name. The meaning of the name is `Anointed, Follower of Christ`.

Where is it used?
The name Kristoffer is mainly used in Scandinavian.

Statistics for Kristoffer

Kristoffer doesn't appear in 2007`s top-1000 name list.
The last time Kristoffer appeared in the top-1000 was 17 years ago, in 1991. It ranked #990 in that year. . 1980 was a `top year` for the name Kristoffer. (Based on 128 years of name history) In that year it ranked #729. The last time Kristoffer appeared among the most common names was in 1980. Our records go back to 1880

After reading this email I became very interested in this spelling and asked Taylor what his feelings are on the matter. Of course my amazing husband said I don't really care.. What ever you want to do haha. This made things so much easier.

Know I am having this tug of war with myself on which way to spell my sons name. I like Kristopher but I feel like Kristoffer is different and has character. I also am Scandinavian so it has that meaning to me. So this is my big dilemma now, how to spell my sons name. I guess I have a small amount to decide but I'm just really not sure.
What is your opinion? Which one do you like? I would love to hear from yall!

Sad Day!

So remember that yarn wreath I worked so hard on?? Well when Taylor and I came home Saturday night we were welcomed with a broken yarn wreath on our door mat!!! It had broken into 3 pieces. Taylor's first reaction was WHAT THE CRAP WHO WOULD JUST COME AND BREAK OUR WREATH!! Then as we thought about it we  realized that it probably fell from the wind and since it was cold it broke into pieces.. I am very sad about it and it made me a little depressed for a few minutes but this means I will just have another craft to do while I wait for our wonderful arrival :) Speaking of... we are at 36 weeks.. which means only 4 weeks left!! CRAZY!!!!

Happy Monday

Turkey Day Football.. OF COURSE :)

This year Taylor was able to talk to friends about playing football on Thanksgiving day morning far enough in advance that they were all able to do it. Taylor was super excited about. He even decided that why only play once a year... Lets make it like a once a month thing!? I quickly replied I don't think so.. No need to push our luck on him getting hurt and going to the emergency room. But more than once a year would definitely be okay just not quite that often. We will see what happens.

Picking Teams

Taylor split playing Quarterback for his team.

Look at the stud!

Getting some exercise

It was definitely a good day!

Sadly my camera died toward the end of the football game and so I wasn't able to get picture of the rest of the day but I am getting them from my father so more pictures to come!

Nursey update!

So this last week Taylor worked everyday but Thanksgiving day so it gave me quite a bit of time to finish the bumper pad for the crib. I have definitely decided that I wont be making another one of these. It was fun and all but all the small little things I had to do just doesn't seem worth the money. So next time I will be paying someone a little extra to make it :)

I can now officially say the crib is done!!! Yay so now for the few small details to finish this bad boy up and then I will post pictures of the whole nursery. I'm so excited for it to finally be done.. Especially because we only have a month till the due date. YIKES!! Its coming so fast :)

34 weeks and a Wedding :)

We are at 34 weeks! We went to the doctor this week and found out that I am measuring almost 35 weeks.. This could be bad or good. Bad if I'm just extra big for extra long OR we will get to meet our little Prince early. Has much as I would like the second of the two if he needs to stay for extra long by all means that is what I want. Healthy is what we are wanting no matter how long it takes.
My mom brought this onesie out last weekend. She made it after the baby shower in Georgia because she didn't have time to finish it at the shower. I am in love with it :)

Taylor's best friend Josh got married today to our friend Katy. We are so happy for them and feel very blessed to have been able to share this special day with them. We were privileged enough to have been invited to their sealing and it was so beautiful. President Uchtdorf performed the ceremony and man he is such a wonderful man. It was so great to have been able to be in his presence and to feel the wonderful spirit that he carries with him. I didn't get many pictures but a few is better than none right?!

Yes they did have a make-out session right in front of everyone haha

The Happy Couple

Katy looked absolutely stunning

Well I would have to say that today was a very successful day.
Congratulations Josh and Katy!

Just a little thought..

So I was reading through the blogs I follow and I found this quote that someone had posted and I absolutely fell in love and wanted to share it...

People are often unreasonable and self-centered.
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people will accuse you of ulterior motives.
Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you.
Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous.
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have
and it may never be enough.
Give your best anyway.

For you see, in the end, it is between you and God.
It never was between you and them anyway.

Mother Teresa

isn't it wonderful?!?

Our good friends Josh Beasley and Katy Bertram are getting married today and we are lucky enough to have been invited to their sealing. I am so happy for them and wish all the joy in the world for them.. Pictures to come :)

32 weeks

We have come to the end of our 32 weeks and on to 33 weeks. Time is really flying we are getting so close and we aren't even close to having everything ready. My current project right now is the bumper pad. Taylor and I went and picked out the fabric on Saturday and I am getting a slow start on it.. But I am getting started. I have just been so tired lately. Baby Kristopher is using all my energy to grow big and strong which is more than fine with me it just means I might be a little slower in the crafty category.

Fabric for the Bumper Pad

Remember the car seat cover I made for my friend Laurel and how I forgot to get finished product pictures? Well I had to borrow it so I could put the Velcro on the straps so I was able to get some finished product pictures!!
So what do you think? I am really proud of it if I do say so myself.. but I guess I am bias :)
This weekend my good friend Vanessa is throwing me a baby shower and I am so excited to see everyone and be able to visit. Thank you so much Vanessa ahead of time!! You really are such a wonderful friend :)
Also my mom and dad are coming to visit because there is also a BYU football game so I am really excited for this weekend... Hopefully the week will go by speedy fast!

Halloween 2011

I'm sad to say that we did not dress up this year for Halloween but you better believe that we will be dressing up next year!! I wanted to do something super creative for our ward party but I was out of town for the ward party so we just decided that we would save our money and do something great next year especially because we will have Baby Kristopher to dress up :) SO EXCITED!!
We did carve pumpkins though and we also did our Halloween dinner which is a family tradition of my family. In the end I would say that Halloween was a success. We even got a few trick or treaters!

I was making one for me and one for Kristopher but the one for Kristopher didn't end up working out :( but I mean it was a cute idea ha. Taylor made a Florida Gator and I made Cinderella.
Finished product.
